Barts the Chemist was the first late night pharmacy in Melbourne and has been a trusted part of the Hampton East community for over 50 years!  We are open 7 days a week until late to be here when you need us the most and you can always speak with a pharmacist at Barts the Chemist.

We pride ourselves on our friendly, caring and attentive care.  Located on South Road (just near the Nepean Highway), we are open EVERY DAY of the year (including CHRISTMAS DAY and GOOD FRIDAY). 


This means you can access our knowledgeable Pharmacists and supportive pharmacy team whenever you need us - day or night - to provide sound medical advice, vaccinations, prescriptions and treatments of minor ailments.


We have a large range of medications, home health care and beauty products and services available.  Our friendly, professional and caring staff are on hand to assist you in any way.  We also have one of the widest range of crutches and breast pumps available for hire across the suburbs of Hampton East, Moorabbin, Bentleigh and Brighton East.

Below, you can upload your prescription directly to our pharmacists.  We will be able to dispense your medicines beforehand so you can be confident it'll be ready when you need it.

Before the pharmacist finalises supply, the original paper prescription must be received by the pharmacy.  


Once we have dispensed the first prescription - simply keep your repeats on file and manage your monthly supply via our mobile application.  Ask our pharmacists for more information.

Great, so what do I do with my ePrescription?  How do I receive my medicines?

Your GP will send you a token via SMS or email direct to your smartphone or email.

You then take it or send it directly to the pharmacy.

If you have repeats, an updated SMS or email will be sent directly to you for when you need it next.

ePrescriptions are a digital version of your paper prescription.  Instead of receiving a paper prescription, your GP can now send you a Token via email or SMS directly to your smartphone or computer.


Safe, convenient & efficient, ePrescriptions are available for viewing on your digital device (smartphone or computer), for when you need them.  This will save you time and increase medicine safety.

What is an Electronic Prescription?  (ePrescription)?

Electronic prescriptions provide you with convenient access to your medicines here at Barts the Chemist 

Electronic prescriptions aren't mandatory and you will have a choice to receive either an electronic or a paper prescription from your prescriber (but not both). Electronic prescriptions will continue to support your right to choose your prescriber and our pharmacy.
